Charters in Tuscany & Elba
The Tuscany nobody drives to: Elba's iron-red beaches and Napoleon's little empire, Giglio's one perfect port, and quiet Roman ruins you swim to.
Tuscany has an archipelago, and almost nobody outside Italy sails it. Seven islands run down the coast from Livorno to the Argentario — Elba the big green one with proper towns and Napoleon's exile villas, Capraia the wild volcanic outlier, Giglio with its single harbour so pretty it hurts, and Giannutri where you anchor over Roman villa ruins. Most of it is national park; all of it is refreshingly Italian in season.
Charters start from Punta Ala, Castiglioncello or Porto Santo Stefano on the Argentario. It is a family-friendly cruising ground — short hops, sandy coves, real towns for gelato runs — with enough between-island passage to feel like a voyage. September, when the water peaks and Italian holidays end, might be the single best-value week in the Mediterranean.

Фільтри, застосовані до підбірки tuscany & the elba archipelago нижче.
Elba's variety
Thirty beaches, three harbour towns, Napoleon's two villas and a cable car up Monte Capanne — the big island alone fills three unhurried days.
Swim-to ruins
Giannutri's Roman villa comes down to the waterline and Giglio's Campese tower guards the anchorage — casual antiquity, no queues.
Family water
Short passages, shallow sandy coves, and towns with playgrounds and gelato. The easiest Italian cruising ground for kids.
Maremma behind
The Argentario's fishing towns — Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano — back onto Maremma wine country. Pre- or post-charter nights go to vineyards.

Для tuscany & the elba archipelago.
Where do Tuscan charters start?
Punta Ala and Porto Santo Stefano (Argentario) are the classic bases; Castiglioncello and Piombino serve Elba directly. Pisa (PSA) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) are the practical airports depending on which end you start.
Is the archipelago restricted?
Parts are national park with anchoring and landing rules — Montecristo is effectively off-limits, Giannutri and Capraia have regulated zones. Crews carry the permits and know the legal moorings; it is why the water stays so clean.
Elba or Giglio for the overnight?
Elba for towns, restaurants and choice of shelter in any wind; Giglio for the single-harbour postcard evening. Most weeks do two nights at Elba and one at Giglio.
How does it compare to the Amalfi Coast?
Greener, quieter, cheaper, and more about swimming coves than cliff villages. Fewer bucket-list photo stops, more actual holiday. Families and repeat charterers tend to prefer it.
